After years of serving in a small chapel, God has provided a new home for our growing parish! We have acquired a beautiful property not far from downtown Tulsa, and we are working to construct the necessary facilities for our parish to relocate. We ask first and foremost that you keep us in your prayers! And, if possible, please consider contributing what you are able towards our building fund.

Established in 1997, Holy Apostle James Parish has for many years struggled to serve God in a small chapel on a residential property. As the parish grew in attendants, we were able to construct two additions to the original building to keep up with the constant need for more space. At the same time, the priest’s house is used for communal meals each Sunday, and the location on a cul-de-sac supplies ad-hoc parking.
Over the last few years, however, the rate of growth has pushed our current arrangements to their limit. With new parishioners, including many young children, we have simply run out of space. The chapel cannot easily be expanded any further, and is suffering from an irreparable foundation issue. Likewise, the additional cars each week have at times been an imposition on our neighbors.
Providentially, we have acquired a large property in Tulsa County. The new property is more central to the greater Tulsa area, being a short distance from downtown Tulsa, as opposed to our current location on the periphery of the metro area. The new property is also adjacent to a large public park and, most importantly, has plenty of room for us to grow and build an honorable temple to the glory of God and His saints.
By focusing our efforts on this new property, we hope, with God’s help, to provide the requisite needs for an enduring parish that will be a witness to Christ and His Church for future generations.
With God’s help, we have already received the required zoning approval for the church, and have begun cleaning the land up and working on the necessary infrastructure improvements.
Because of the pressing need to move, we are asking for contributions to our building fund, so that, God willing, we can begin construction on a Chapel/Church hall(with the required facilities) as soon as possible.
We need your help!
We urge you to keep us in your prayers as we begin this work and, if you are able, to donate towards our project. Our immediate goal is to raise an additional $100,000 by the Summer of 2024 so that we can begin site work and start contracting for construction. Ultimately, we hope to raise enough funds to build a traditional church edifice at the new location.
